Urs Schaeli MRCVS

 ursUrs grew up as a farmer’s son in Switzerland. He qualified from Vet School in Leipzig, Germany, in 2000.

Before joining Colin Sutherland in 2005 he worked in 2 positions as a Farm Animal and Equine Assistant.

He really enjoys both aspects of the daily Large Animal work; working closely together with farmers on their herd health and also being challenged on the Equine side.

Since October 2008 he and Sabine have been Partners in Cheviot Vets.

Sabine Schaeli Dr Med Vet MRCVS

sabineschaeli2Sabine qualified from Vet School in Leipzig, Germany in 2000.

After completing her doctoral thesis at the University of Berne, Switzerland, she started her first job in a busy small animal practice in Suffolk.

3 children and 2 part time positions in small animal practices later, she and Urs bought Cheviot Vets and then started setting up the new small animal part of the practice.

Carolyn Cummins MVB Phd MRCVS

carolynCarolyn grew up in Ireland and got her degree in Veterinary in 2006 from the university College Dublin. After Vetschool she went on to do a PhD in equine reproduction followed by an internship in Equine Clinical Studies in 2009.

Her pets are an old Irish Sport Horse, a small connemara foal and a hairy terrier puppy called Cabbage.

Kate Allen

kateKate works with Sabine on the Small Animal side of the practice. She was brought up in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders and graduated as a vet from Edinburgh University in 2007. She has since worked in small animal practice in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland, and joined Cheviot Vets in February 2011.

Kate is married to Dave who is also a vet, and they live in Cornhill-on-Tweed with their two cats.

Anna Rodwell

anna2Anna was born and bred in the Borders. Originally from Morebattle, she presently lives in Hownam with her husband Damon and her four unruly but gorgeous children!

She's loving the opportunity to make forays into England to work in Powburn, and stunned on a daily basis by how beautiful the country is - in fact, it’s so bonny it could be Scotland!

They are are joined in their little piece of paradise by two dogs, a cat, a horse and a donkey.

Sandra Jobson

sandra2Animals have been a large part of Sandra's life from a very early age, having dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs while growing up, and owning all types of horses from her late teens.

She has worked with various types of horses including event, race and dressage.

Carol Moore

carolCarol started working in small animal practice some 13 years ago and has now joined us at Cheviot Vets. She lives near Ford with her husband John and 2 young daughters. The family is completed by 2 energetic dogs, a ferral cat and some hens.

Carol is a self-confessed nutter about animals in general and dogs in particular and is always trying to save some casualty or another.

Ami Patrick

amipatrickAmi has now started University and is enjoying the wildlife in Edinburgh. We are looking forward to catching up with her in her holidays!
